Good News

After months of planning and hard work our website is online now and you can start

We are delighted to hear that you are a photographer looking to get published and that you are interested in having that opportunity through Zipett Magazine. If you like the idea of having your images featured in a high-end fashion publication that showcases some of the elite creatives from around the globe then Zipett Magazine is the place for you. Just a few basic steps and things to know, and your work will soon be off to our submissions team.

Before submitting work, please read an issue of Zipett magazine (when available – first edition is in late February 2016) and research our style and preferences. Theme ideas for each issue will be posted for inspiration and as guidelines for each issue prior to its release.

We accept submission only through our electronic submissions system and not through email, in person, Facebook or other forms of social media. Any images must be from high quality cameras (at least 6 megapixel DSLR), 300dpi and on the larger side of JPEG (highest quality, lowest compression).

So what are we looking for? To create a new and exciting fashion magazine Zipett Magazine is looking for fresh, unpublished, and interesting images. The creative team here at Zipett Magazine prides itself on a love and eye for talent, imagination, and creativity and we are always looking for that WOW factor in the images submitted. When the team decides what work to publish we don’t just look for a high quality image but also one that grabs our attention from the get-go. We are more than happy to review submissions that are unusual and unconventional but the team here at Zipett Magazine is particularly interested in artistic or implied nude and high-end European-style fashion photography.

We do have some limits though. The Zipett Magazine will not accept men’s magazine style glamour shots such as pornographic images. Tasteful implied or artistic nude is absolutely fine though. If the team suspects that your images contain a watermark, pornography, or infringe the rights of any third party, including images that only feature a logo or trademark, we will be sending them straight to the bin. A series of similar images with almost identical compositions or only slightly different exposures are also forbidden from submissions for Zipett Magazine. Only photographers can submit images for Zipett Magazine unless you have written approval from the photography as well as all the necessary rights. We will place a small Zipett Magazine watermark on your image however to avoid anyone stealing your work. Don’t worry – it will be unobtrusive to the photograph.

If you hear from our team that your submission has been accepted for use in the Zipett Magazine then it means that the creative team (and everyone else here) LOVES your work! We are very selective and only showcase images that we feel have the WOW factor. Every submission that is selected will receive a confirmation email and then it’s just a matter of time before you see your work featured in a new issue. We will also send you a hard copy (or if you prefer we can give you a link to download it online) of the magazine if you are published.

Editorials

An editorial is a series of images (approximately 4-7) that creates a coherent narrative or has a similar concept throughout. Pictures submitted that don’t adhere to this definition will not be looked at. To create a new and surprising magazine we ask that the images submitted have not been previously in a magazine, on a website or form of social media and that they won’t be submitted again for a period of at least six weeks. Please read the above guidelines for what we do and do not accept in terms of theme etc.

Submission Guidelines for Editorials

1. General. Editorials in Zipett Magazine are on average 4-7 pages. A minimum of 7 photos is required, maximum 10. The orientation of the pictures is irrelevant – they can be either portrait or landscape or a mixture. The images need to be different – whether that is an outfit, makeup, landscape, and/or model change. All the pictures submitted must create a coherent narrative or has a similar concept throughout. Please also suggest a possible title of the editorial, an explanation of the editorial and inspiration behind it, and a complete list of team credits.

2. Image requirements. Any images must be from high quality cameras (at least 6 megapixel DSLR), 300dpi, and on the larger side of JPEG (highest quality, lowest compression). We do not allow frames, borders, watermarks, or logos on the image (don’t worry we will place a small unobtrusive Zipett Magazine watermark on the image to prevent anyone stealing it). Please name all the files submitted with your first name and surname and a number that places it in the order than you prefer e.g. sarah_adams_01.jpg.

3. CreditsPlease ensure to submit files with all the team credits (such as photographer, MUA etc) for each image and name them exactly the same as the image files except they should be in simple text files e.g. sarah_adams_01.txt. If all the pictures were created by the one team one file is enough. Please ensure you check all the details, as we hold no responsibility for misspelt or missing credentials.

4. Dropbox. The editorial images should all be submitted via Dropbox. Please send through your Dropbox address via the submissions form and we can organize to receive your submissions.

Note: Only photographers can submit images for Zipett Magazine unless you have written approval from the photography as well as all the necessary rights. All images submitted must be original, unpublished, tasteful and appropriate work.

Single Images

Unlike most other fashion magazines we do accept single pictures for publication. If you haven’t had the chance to organize an editorial or have some left over single images from a previous editorial that you haven’t had published feel free to submit them. As is expected there are more creatives submitting to this section so please submit only your very best work. As with submissions for editorials the single pictures must be unpublished to maintain the originality of Zipett Magazine. Please read the above guidelines for what we do and do not accept in terms of theme etc.
