Q: Why is Zipett Magazine so strict about the size of the images?
A: In order to avoid cropping or altering the image differently to that of the original artist we ask that all the images you submit have all the same dimensions. This also saves us time within the process of creating the magazine and ensures the images are top quality.
Q: Can models,make-up artists etc submit images?
A: Zipett Magazine does allow for creatives other than photographers to submit images as long as you have written consent from the photographer as well as all the necessary rights for the photograph.
Q: Is it OK to send images by email, social media, mail etc?
A: No. Anything submitted to the magazine through any means other than the electronic submissions form (which includes the drop-box for images) on this website will be automatically ignored and deleted. If you are having issues submitting via our forms please contact the administration team and we will endeavor to fix the problem as soon as possible.
Q: What genres and themes of photography are acceptable for submission to Zipett Magazine?
A: Zipett Magazine in interested in any genre of photography aside from the men’s magazine style of glamour shots (i.e. pornographic style images). We specialize in artistic nude and high end European fashion style photography so that is the genre preferred. Themes for each issue will be released on the Zipett Magazine website and the images will only be accepted if they adhere to the designated theme. We ask that you please include an explanation of your images and how it relates to the theme when you submit.
Q: What happens after I have submitted?
A: After you have submitted your work through our submissions form we will review your work and decide if it is suitable to use for this issue or if we’d think it would suit a future issue better. Once we have made our decision we will let you know via the email you provide within 14 days. Please note that submitting to Zipett Magazine does not guarantee you a spot in the published editions. If we choose not to use the images it does not mean that we don’t love your work, only that we don’t have a space for it as this point in time.
Q: Do you accept work that has previously been published?
A: For the first issue we are accepting previously published work however every issue after that we ask that the work submitted has not been previously submitted or used in any form of publication. This helps us create a unique magazine full of new and surprising content.
Q: Who decides if the pictures are going to be used in Zipett Magazine?
A: All images submitted are reviewed by the creative director and team to decide whether they are suitable to be used in a publication. Images that receive the most interest from all members of the team will be used.
Q: If my photos get published will I get a free copy of the magazine?
A: If you are published in an issue of Zipett we are happy to send you a free copy of the printed magazine or a link for a free digital download – whichever you prefer.
Q: Why do you put your logo on all pictures?
A: This is purely because we are trying to avoid your pictures being stolen from our website or magazine. Your details will be posted with any images that we have so you are adequately acknowledged.
Q: I ordered copy of the magazine and it hasn’t arrived yet. What do I do?
A: If you have orderly a copy of the magazine and it has been more than the maximum expectant shipping days then please contact our administration team as soon as possible as we will endeavor to fix the problem. In the mean time please check that the address you organized for the magazine to be sent to is correct and that the copy was paid for. We’ll investigate the problem on our side and you can investigate it on yours.
Q: I got the download link but I have internet connection problems. What do I do if the download fails?
A: Zipett Magazine gives you two attempts at downloading the digital magazine. If the download does fail please contact our administration team and we will try to fix the problem from our side if one exists. If it is purely down to internet connection however there isn’t much we can do about it and we suggest you contact your internet supplier.
Q: Why is the postage to my country so expensive?
A: There isn’t much we can do about the postage as it is determined by Australian Post as they determine the price based on the weight of the magazine. If the postage is too expensive we suggest downloading the digital copy.
